RSNZ Manawatu Branch Activities
- Regular public meetings held in the typically held at Palmerston North Library (usually on the 3rd Tuesday of the month),
Typical attendance is 50, including researchers, academics, farmers, teachers, students and lay people
Some meetings are combined with other societies. - A forum for discussing and disseminating research, science and technology.
- A monthly newsletter giving members details of meetings and selected local news items.
- Regular assistance with the Manawatu Science & Technology Fair which the Branch initiated in 1974.
- The Manawatu Lecture – our annual prestigious lecture describing an aspect of science relevant to the historical and future development of the Manawatu.
- Electronic notification of meetings to anyone who is interested in receiving such information.
- Nominations for awards.
- Supporting various science activities in the Manawatu, especially the Manawatu Science and Technology Fair.
- Encouraging members to adhere to the Royal Society Te Apārangi Code of Ethics.
Membership – Joining the RSNZ Manawatu Branch
The membership fee is $25 (students may join as associate members for $5).
